Looking for a few fun, inexpensive, and creative date night ideas!?
Hey girl HEY!
Just simply poppin’ in for your weekly dose of FUN!!!!
I’m not sure about you all but I’ve been in a weird funk lately! So this week I decided to reflect on all the good that came from this past month and thought it was a perfect post to share – all of our fun and creative date night ideas : 2020 style!
Whether you’re comfortable going out and about, or if you’re laying low at home for a while more, we’re gonna spice things up with many options for your perfect date night ideas!
explore new nature parks
I’ve definitely been lucky enough to be spending (half of) my summer in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada where I feel like there’s a nature park within 20 feet of each other – everywhere! I’ve come to LOVE walking the trails and just being in awe that earth really looks like this!
I’m absolutely obsessed with these waterfalls – and Quebec has SO many!! I’m also just amazed that I get to call this place my second home because nothing you see here, will you see in good ole OH-IO!!
okay okay yes I love this place moving on!
bike/roller blade on a bike trail
Guys, I don’t even remember the last time I was on a bike – is that bad? But I know every time I get on it I have two thoughts going through my head …
1.) This is so fun why don’t I do this all the time?!
2.) My butt bones were NOT made for a bike seat WHAT.SO.EVER.
OOUUUCCCHH
Also, pro tip here: don’t forget your sunnies – it’s not a good move!!
You can also sub this in with pickle ball (my new fave!) tennis, walks by the water, climbing over 390 steps for ‘fun’, or running/exercising together – any outdoorsy activity!
strawberry picking
Okay, you all have probably read my Instagram post about this, but if not – Here in Quebec the strawberry picking season is on a very limited time scheduled, due to the weather!
SO, upon arriving to Canada – we had to do our mandatory 14 day quarantine and planned a day picking strawberries the following week. To our surprise, when we got there… no strawberries… anywhere other than the tables by the front desk!!
SO if you’re lucky enough to get to a field, I highly suggest strawberry – or even blueberry picking (because it LOOKED like fun…)! + It’s a great social distancing activity to kick start your date night!
outdoor eating
This could mean a couple things! Grab your favorite take out, and head to one of those nature parks from above, and have yourself a cute picnic!
OR since places are starting to reopen a little more – choose a spacious outdoor patio with all the yummy apps and dranks!
game night
Thinking of a few date night ideas that involve some competition? This is a GOOD one! Especially for all you competitive couples out there! Grab a drink of your choice and get down to business!!!
As you can see game night is pretty big in the Dufour household. Considering 8 months of the year we are far far away from friends and family, our typical entertainment is a deck of cards, or our fave game, or a HUGE puzzle!
some of our go to’s other than a plain deck of cards!

car rides
This is another HUGE fan of ours! Car rides are a big stress reliever for me, for some reason. Just pop me in the car, turn the radio on and keep driving!
Our favorite hobby to do is grab a coffee and drive around neighborhoods and look at houses. Mainly the massive mansions that we then create a scenario of how if it was ours, what would we have in there – etc! Anyone else do this? Or are we just loonies?!
It’s super fun – but can also look super creepy so just keep your cool and don’t stare too long if the neighbors are outside 😉
movie nights
Don’t think “oh movie night, so original” Think – “omg we are 6 again, building a comfy fort/dome and filling it with alllllll the movie necessities!!”
Build that fort, grab some popcorn, grab those candy boxes, grab one of the 25 comfy blankets you have, AND A LARGE MCDONALDS COKE (IYKYK) and boom you have yourself the perfect movie date night!!
*can combine for “dinner and a movie” ooooooooh fancyyyyyyy*
cooking night
I LOVE cooking! But I’m the pickiest eater I’ve ever known. So we usually stick to the basic dinners I like and switch them up throughout the weeks.
If you’re anything like me, use this time to plan out a cooking date night where you get to cook together, and try different things!!
YES! Let them in your kitchen and help you!!! Just this once!!!
Hop on Pinterest for any meal ideas and then get to cookin’ good lookin’
*this same idea can be done with a “baking night” ooooooooh cleverrrrr*
drink sampling
If you’re a lil wild thang – you could always choose a few different wines, seltzers, beers, ciders, etc that maybe you’ve been wanting to try but didn’t want to buy for the occasion and not like them!
Grab a few different beverages of your choice and have a fun little sampling date night – maybe with some appppys?! (my fave!) (Appetizers if you’re confused!) and you’re favorite playlist in the background!
virtual classes
Find an activity that is interesting to the both of you – and YouTube the daylights out of it!! Whether it be a yoga class, that cooking idea above, a French (or any language) lesson, drawing, or just literally anything! That’s the beauty of the internet amiright!? Love it!
I tried to keep that as simple as possible with all things we have done during our quarantine – but I’d LOVE to hear more options of some creative ideas you all came up with!! Leave a comment below!
SIDENOTE: you do NOT need a boo thang for any of these ideas! If you prefer to do things alone, it’s refreshing! If you want to grab a girlfriend and enjoy the day, go for it!!! These date nights are so versatile I’ll bet you take them with you when we all escape 2020!!

Really good ideas, nature and parks are always a good option. Have you heard about Forest Bathing? It’s a really nice practice and really good date idea. I wrote about it on my blog 😉
