Struggling to stay on track of your business goals lately? I most definitely have been too! It’s not always easy to have a vision in mind, and not know how to accomplish or achieve the long term goals to make that vision successful. There are and always will be many setbacks to your goals in this journey, but as long as you’ve developed a plan, your success can be ultimate!
Feeling like you have to do everything at once in order to succeed is probably the biggest down fall when it comes to reaching the ultimate success! Coming to terms with slowing down and building a step by step process can truly change the game! Here are a few of my strategies on how I stay on track of my business goals. As they’ve helped me navigate through this journey of mine, I hope they do the same for you!
1.) set realistic goals + crush them
To make this easier for you on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in order to stay on track with your business goals – have one BIG goal in mind for the year and then break that goal down into multiple smaller goals that can be measured daily, weekly or monthly. This will make the big goal more attainable and realistic to accomplish. If you set a big goal with no plan in mind on how to reach that goal, the chances of you reaching that goal will be slim! Make sure they are realistic goals that you are able to both, challenge yourself, and attain them. Don’t set yourself up for failure right off the bat! Check out my recent post “12 tips on how to productively work from home!” Even if you aren’t doing this journey from your home, these tips will help you stay motivated!
You want that big goal at the end of the year to be accomplished? CRUSH YOUR SMALL GOALS! It’s one thing to set them… now you must crush them! No excuses! These are stepping stones along the way to your ultimate goal, you cannot skip these small goals and expect the outcome will be the same of the bigger goal!
2.) stay in your lane
You must absolutely keep in mind of others in your industry and what they are doing. This helps you maintain trends and know what your competition is doing + possibly succeeding in. BUT you absolutely cannot let that impair your vision on your own goals! Comparing is the ultimate enemy in life, I’m convinced of it! You cannot take what others are doing and do it yourself and think it will work. That works for THEM and that was THEIR goal. It may not work for YOU and it most certainly is NOT your goal to be like THEM. This is your lane in life, stay in it!!
3.) time block
This is SO important when it comes to basically anything regarding success! Have you heard the saying “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” THIS is exactly how you should think when it comes to your business and time blocking. You have many goals set for you this week, this month, and this year. If you get stuck on ONE thing in regards to those goals, you have now lost time on other things to also help reach those goals.
If you come to a road block on something and your time is up with it (yes, set a timer and when it rings move on) MOVE ON!!! (I talk a lot about this in my post I mentioned above on productively working from home! Be sure to check it out!) Moving on from something that you know isn’t finished may drive you crazy at the beginning. But I promise you, moving on to something else will be extremely beneficial for you in the long run. You can either have a blank bullet point, or a blank day – you chose!
4.) surround yourself with success
We’ve all heard – “you are who you hangout with” right? Well, I’ve never truly believed in that until a few years ago when I realized I did not like myself when I was around certain people. I didn’t like the way I felt about myself when I was with them, I didn’t like the way I was starting to think of others when I was with them. Sometimes you have to make a tough change in your surroundings to better yourself. And let me be the first to tell you that doing that does NOT, I repeat, NOT make you selfish or “better than someone” so if those are thrown your way, stand your ground and be true to yourself.
If you surround yourself with closed minded, negative people – chances are you will start to feel and think those ways. If you surround yourself with the go-getter, positive people – same thing, you will start to feel and think those ways. Of course I’m not saying the actions of others is making you feel or be a certain way, that is all YOUR OWN choice! But choices can be influenced and misguided so just be cautious of your surroundings and if it betters you and your business goals.
5.) self confidence
This might sound cliche – but trust me you, you need it. For me, this is the absolute hardest to overcome, and may never fully come around but it’s still a process in the works. It is SO MUCH easier to tell yourself all of the things you are doing wrong and will never do right… than it is to tell yourself you absolutely can and will be the best at what you are doing. Don’t ask me why it’s like this, it just is! Even for the strongest and most successful people, they too have had to overcome this. This may take more time for you than it does others, (or vice versa) but I believe daily positive affirmations and self care, can really go a long way! Which is why I practice this every morning on my instagram account!
You believed in yourself enough to create these realistic goals. Now believe in yourself enough to CRUSH THEM. And crush them hard!! I believe in you!
a few fun items that can contribute to ultimate success!
you have what it takes!
You have what it takes to be successful and there is NO ONE else in the world that can do it for you. All you have to do is to go out there, set your goals, get in the right mindset, and be the best version of yourself. Through the failures and the successes. Trail & error is most definitely a way of life!
