how to diy the viral terracotta pumpkins from pottery barn
You guys will die at how easy and affordable this DIY is! TRUST ME, if I can do it – you can do it! I’m the LEAST DIY person I know, even though I wish so badly that I was 😛
The idea of this project is to recreate the viral Pottery Barn Terracotta pumpkins. Turn their $200 pumpkin family into a $50, one hour max, project! If you’re unfamiliar with the viral PB pumpkins, I’ve added a picture below for reference! Happy pumpkin’ing 😛

These are the pottery barn terracotta pumpkins that everyone is obsessing over. Rightfully so, they are beautiful! BUUUUT I cannot, and would not justify paying over $200 for pumpkins. Sorry PB!!

Now, they don’t look EXACTLY like the ones above, but I’m extremely happy with the turn out and think they are close enough! I’m sure if you’re a better DIY’er than me, you could experience with some concrete bases making it even more like the PB – but below are my simple instructions on how to DIY the viral Pottery Barn terracotta pumpkins!
Four Steps to DIY Terracotta Pumpkins
Step one:
Choose any plastic pumpkins from any store. As you can tell I couldn’t find all three to have smiley faces… so I have one creepy one 😛
Step two:
Find your favorite beige paint color. The color I had below is Egyptian pyramid from Behr. I grabbed the “sample size” jar at Home Depot. And some baking soda from the pantry!
Step three:
Mix the baking soda in with the paint on a tray until you get the consistency you want. Now just use a sponge brush and paint away!
Step four:
After they dry, sprinkle a little bit of the baking soda on top and all over the pumpkins, and gentle rub it in so it gives that matte finish!
