a lil’ life update
WOW! Hi friends! Long time no read! I can’t believe it’s been three whole months since I wrote my last blog, my successful morning routine! I knew this summer was going to be JAM packed with events and traveling but I honestly didn’t think it would have taken this much out of me! (And it’s not quite over yet!) For those of you who follow along, THANK YOU! I’ll be back in my groove in no time! But until then, here’s a little life lately <3

Like I said, this summer was JAM packed, but in all the good ways! And to be truthful, it really helped keep my mind off of things that i’ve really been struggling with (missing my friends & fam, STILL not having my work visa, missing out on huge milestones my friends and fam are having back home, feeling like I can’t find my groove here, not sure what an actual “in person” friend is anymore… and the list goes on!!) But then again, it’s given me a summer full of memories and amazing things I won’t forget!
life lately
MAY – Kev and I road tripped to Minneapolis to celebrate his college roommate, and our best friends, bachelorette/bachelor party! We literally got to spend the entire weekend with our favorite people and it was something so special.
I cried for an hour and a half the second we dropped our friends off at the airport and started our 11 hour drive back home! (only 1:30 of 11, I’d say that was good)
We of course had to stop at the Mall of America (my first time ever!)
JUNE – Just two weeks later, we were road trippin again – this time to OshKosh, Wisconsin for their WEDDING DAY!! I remember being excited for my wedding day of course, but there is just something about watching your friends marry their person that really sets ya over the edge… no? 😛
Such a magical day, again spent with all of our favorite people, and another weekend that ended with me *sobbing* this time because there were no more events with all of them for a whole year!
This month was also filled with some local slow pitch games we sign up to play in, a team party with Kevin’s senior hockey league, summer nights on the lake with friends, boat rides that taught Kev how to wakeboard, watching sunsets on the water, and lots of ice cream dates!
JULY – Now THIS is where ‘life lately’ gets a little crazy over here!! In total, we had 7 (non consecutive) days at home to ourselves in the entire month! And by that I mean, unpacking, laundry, cleaning, repacking days 😛
We started off the month hott with a road trip to Calgary to visit our friends new house (!!) celebrating Canada Day & Fourth of July! Then of course a quick drive to Banff because how could you not! Quickly following that trip – my grandparents were making the 22+hour drive from Ohio to Regina to visit!!! They made it there, the day after we made it home from Calgary!
It was seriously the best week! We took them around town, went to see TopGun 😛 had more ice cream in one week than i’ve probably had in an entire year! We then made the drastic decision to drive them 9 hours to see Banff and Lake Louise, like how could you not!!! 😉 We got up super early to drive there, see it all, spend the night, and then woke up to drive the 9 hours home all before they got up the next day to make that 22+hour drive home! IT.WAS.WORTH.IT!
A quick 2 short days after they had left, country thunder was in town! I’ve literally been waiting for this weekend since the day I moved to Regina! Lee Brice, Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton (with Gwen of course!) three full days of SO.MUCH.FUN! I wish every weekend was CT weekend 😛
ANOTHER 2-3 short days after country thunder, it was Kevins 30th birthday!!! Such a big birthday, so I of course had to go all out (as much as I could!) For being in a new city, with no (home)friends or family around – I think I did pretty well! Not to mention the very next day was our three year wedding anniversary (already? jeeze!)… and then the very next day after that we flew to Quebec City (his hometown) for an entire week! Where we saw his friends and of course his mama, and dad (therefore the 30th bday lasted a long time!)!
SHEW!!!! So much happening, in such little time 😛 So to say we were EXHAUSTED come August 1st, was an understatement. But again, it was all worth every second!
AUGUST – Now here we are rearing the end of August! the first three weekends we had totally free! We spent some of the days doing date nights alone, other days we spent on our friends boat, and hanging out at a new bar ETC.! Definitely a more chill and go with the flow type of weekends! Which, usually i’m not here for, but around this time I was definitely here for 😛
Though the end of august starts up with more travel, wedding, and bachelorette fun! It’s very exciting and even though it’s less than 42 hours at a time, I get to see my family and spend time with my friends who I havn’t seen in SOO long!
be sure to follow me on instagram (& now on tiktok!!) for quicker and more fun updates!
SEPTEMBER – Fast forward to September and I was in Asheville, North Carolina the first weekend for a bachelorette party and will be in Cleveland, Ohio the last weekend for the wedding! With Kev’s first half marathon and a visit from our friends from Calgary in-between! SHEW!!! Life lately sure if a doozy!
UNTIL THE HOLIDAYS … P
