I worked in the wedding industry for only 3 years before my own wedding and I knew right away EXACTLY who I wanted my vendors to be. Being in the industry truly helped me understand the importance and value that each and every vendor holds on wedding day. It’s the main goal to have the bride do absolutely nothing the day of her wedding, other than enjoy/take in each moment and have a day she will remember for the rest of her life!

If the vendors are subpar at their job, it creates a subpar experience! It’s like a puzzle, if one doesn’t fit then the entire puzzle is not complete! So if one vendor doesn’t do their job to the best of their abilities, the entire wedding experience could be dented! And that’s a sad truth. Vendors are truly SUCH an important part of your wedding day. If I could give you one ounce of advice, do.not.cut.corners.on.vendors. It may come at a price, trust me – it.will.be.worth.it.
Being lucky enough to have worked with MANY vendors in the Cincinnati area over the last few years, I can say with 100% confidence that I chose the absolute BEST in the city. And I would not change a single one if I had the chance to recreate our magical day. In fact, I made friendships with these vendors that I will truly cherish for LIFE – and you best believe when I’m home celebrating any event, I will call them for their services!

These two, in may opinion, are crucial. I would say the most crucial. Not only are they with you 90% of your entire wedding day (so you better enjoy their company!!) but these pictures and videos are the ONLY tangle thing you will have to truly remember all the things about your special day. And that is extremely important. Sadly, most memories will fade, but these will be there for you, forever. I can bet you have all seen your grandparents wedding pictures more than once! I sure have, every time I visit (they are still on their walls!) I personally have watched our video over 100 times in the matter of 4 days… and plan to every anniversary, special moment, even “just because”!
Daniel Michael Photography
I have worked with this company a few times over the years, and having seen many of them in action I naturally found a favorite! DMP is an extremely welcoming studio and that makes the process very comforting. If you’ve ever had the pleasure to meet Daniel, and then run into him again years later – he.will.still.remember.you!! Extremely personable and just an overall amazing experience. Though they are all extremely wonderful people, I will forever recommend that you request Johnny Darwish. Hands down the best photographer I have ever worked with, and we had the absolute pleasure of reserving him for our wedding day! He’s actually a “need” for your Cincinnati wedding vendors list.
While I’m here I do want to shine a MAJOR light on the coordinator that comes along with the photographer. I cannot express enough how incredible she was. Three of my engaged bridesmaids, and 1 engaged groomsmen (none of which live in Cincinnati) ALL asked if she travels. She’s THAT good. I can hardly put into words how much she completely transformed our day by just being there! We appreciate her more than she will ever know!
Kyle Varney Videography
Unfortunately (for Cincinnati) Kyle moved for a dream job out in LA! HOLLA! Just a week before our wedding day actually! He flew in at 5am the morning of our wedding, was with us from 10am-11pm, and flew back to LA the following morning at 6am. If that right there doesn’t show you how committed he is to his clients he had already signed (17 more this summer I believe), I don’t know what does! Though he is no longer in the Cincinnati area, his roots are here 😉 so if the timing, and the price is right… you just may be able to convince him for a booking! And if you do, consider yourself EXTREMELY lucky! Kyle is an absolute goof and amazing to work with! You’ll be in for a good time, with breathtaking videos to show for it!

Makeup By Kenzy Marie
I don’t know who needs a make up artist that could double as a bff but Kenzy is IT!!!! Makeup aside, Kenzy is the most down to earth, FUN, and outgoing person you will meet! There will not be one awkward moment in her chair, even if it’s your first time meeting her! She’s just one of those girls who can make a friend out of anyone, and such a joy to be around! Add that on top of her creating the EXACT look you were going for, and it’s a match made in heaven! Kenzy created a look I was going for without even seeing the picture in advance, totally my fault but it clearly didn’t matter because she knew exactly what to do by me explaining it (+ that’s a talent in itself!).
Also, I need to talk about my grandma for a hot second. Kenzy had Mamaw FEELIN’ HER SELF!! And rightfully so! I’m not joking when I say that my grandma didn’t take her false lashes off until the following THURSDAY after our Saturday wedding. (not sure that’s sanitary but we left it be!) It’s one thing to have our entire bridal party looking AMAZING, but to have them all FEELING amazing is exactly why I will chose Kenzy every time for any upcoming event!
Tristie Redmond
Tristie did my, and the majority of my friends, hair for all of our dances in high school and there was just NO WAY I wouldn’t have her there on wedding day. Wasn’t even a question. Another Pinterest picture perfectly executed. She’s incredible. The things she can do with hair is absurd, it’s an actual art! Tristie works freelance as well as in a studio, with portfolio pictures out the wazoo that will have you convinced she is magic. Words are hard for this one considering she’s been around my whole life (doubles as a cousin + was very helpful on the D floor with back up bobby pins 😛 ) but I wouldn’t trust anyone else to style my hair for something so important and expect the same end results! So there ya have it, two more Cincinnati wedding vendors to add to your list!

Party Pleasers
Again, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with many DJs over the years, and a lot of times it was with this company! And every single time, I was blown away all over again with a different person. Which made it extremely difficult to choose WHO I wanted for our big day. Each one that I previously worked with and saw in action, would have been perfect for our day. So I ultimately left the decision up to them and told them whomever is free that night, we will take because we knew whomever it was, would be great! That’s trust right there!
We ended up having Tim Fritts, the founder himself! And though we had a crowd that I KNEW would never leave the dance floor, Tim made sure of it all night! Of everything that night, we got the most compliments on how great the DJ was! As I would highly recommend anyone at Party Pleasers (Jeff Clarke is a fan fave!), we were extremely happy with Tim and would choose him over again, anytime! Definitely a must add to your Cincinnati wedding vendors list!

Want a Pinterest worthy bouquet? Debbie is your girl! Want a Pinterest worthy bouquet, on a ‘WISH’ budget? (lol) Debbie can hook you up with all the alternatives in order to fit EVERYONES budget! I have worked with Debbie since I started working in the industry, so naturally I was way more comfortable going to her than others. I was familiar with her outstanding work, how her company operated, and all around loved being in her presence! She makes everything soo easy for you as the client it’s nearly impossible to want to go elsewhere!

The Center Cincinnati
Obviously, everyone’s taste in vision and venues are completely different. So this may or may not resinate with you. BUT if this IS your vibe, seriously look no further! The Center is hands down a venue making wedding dreams come true. The beauty and perfection in the design speaks for it self, but the coordinators – THEY make it THAT much better. I could actually rave about Katie 100 times a day and still feel like I haven’t made my point on how great she is. She will truly make sure you (or any of your friends/family) do absolutely NOTHING on your wedding day – which is the goal ladies!! I cannot stress this enough! You want ALL of your friends and family members to enjoy your day just as much as you (obviously or you wouldn’t be having this wedding, yup I said it!) Katie WILL make that happen, weather she’s physically there or not!
My postponed wedding date ended up being on a day where she was in an out of town wedding herself. And the last thing I did was panic – I know! I knew whoever she had trusted to fill in for her would know exactly what to do. And I wasn’t wrong in the slightest. If you’re lucky enough to also work with Erin, you’re in good hands! All in all, it’s a 10/10, five star, thumbs up, HIGHLY recommend review from me and ALL of my guests!
The Headquarters Event Center
I’m convinced this is an event space for ALL types of visions! Doesn’t matter what you’re trying to pull off, this venue has a unique way of making it all work! We used this venue as our rehearsal dinner venue, but smaller weddings would fit in there perfectly! Bridal showers even! Literally any event could be held in this venue and it just works! The owners are incredibly easy to work with and extremely nice and professional! I’m loving that I will be able to use this venue in the future for, and may already be having ideas on what to do next 😛

Village Pantry Catering
Many venues may come with an on site catering company that you have to go with or have a list of preferred caterers you have to chose from. This is something you should look into before booking your venue, obvi! At the time of us booking, The Center had a list for us to chose from. If I’m not mistaken, they no longer have a list and you must only use their caterer on site (don’t take my word for it!). Other than the DJ, the food was a HUGE hit! Not surprising at all because it was sooooooo good! And the amount of options on the menus are surprisingly long! You choose which tier you want – based on price, and how it’s served (buffet/plated) etc. So many options to choose from no matter which tier you choose, which I loved!
Also, SARAH! They have their own coordinator that will also be at the wedding to make sure it all goes smoothly and I cannot say enough amazing things about Sarah! She was by far the easiest caterer I have ever worked with. At times I would say “okay sooo…. is there something else I have to do I feel like I should be doing something??” and her answer was always “nope, I’ve got it all taken care of” AMAZING. MUSIC TO A BRIDES EARS! And then to add on top of that, I don’t think she is actually capable of making a sad face… HAHA she is always SO bubbly and smily ALL the time it was a breath of fresh air!! LOVED working with her! Highly recommend hiring VCP for your events and if you can, request Sarah!

Another true Pinterest picture coming to life. Sara, owner of W&S, is beyond incredible to work with. Not only was she able to take us on last minute (we won’t go there!) but she made everything seriously so convenient for us and our chaotic life. She literally boxed up our tasting and labeled everything, to give to us to do ON THE ROAD moving to Canada… with only about a 4 day notice! – Now as I would never suggest doing that, as I would never do that again to someone, she knew our situation and completely adapted to it no problem and THAT RIGHT THERE is customer service.
Skipping over the fact that I spoon fed myself the 3 containers of icing she gave us… I HIGHLY recommend the “Wedding Cake Flavor” it’s an almond based cake, with an actual name but she’ll know what you’re talking about 😉 and her signature almond buttercream icing WITH the cream cheese icing as a filling – OMG MY MOUTH IS WATERING! She also makes STUNNING cookies and cupcakes! You know those cookies that LOOK amazing but usually taste like cardboard? Yeah, not hers! They looking amazing and taste incredible. the end. period. book her. asap!
