Hey ghouls! 😛 It’s that time of year again! Aka my FAVE SEASON!! I’m obsessed with all things fall! The temperature, the leaves changing, the decorating, the fall activities, and of course – all the pumpkin spice treats!!!! It all just makes me so happy! I’ve found the CUTEST fall decor ideas, that I think you’ll be loving just as much as I do!! Are you looking for cute trendy fall decor ideas that don’t “over do it” on the tacky side? Yup. Yes you are!! Here are some of my faves!!
These subtile trendy fall decor ideas below will leave your entire house feeling warm and cozy for the fall season!
trendy fall decor ideas for the …
front porch / outside
Everyone loves decorating their porch for fall, amiright!? My favorite trendy decor idea for the front porch/outside area is definitely the layering of pumpkins! If you have steps, I love the idea of pumpkins and mums scattered – maybe with a hay stack or two. Though adding lanterns or a big fall/halloween sign (or witches broom ooooh) propped up gives it an extra oomf that doesn’t over do it!
If you don’t have stairs, stacked pumpkins is the cutest thing!! Just simply snap the stem off and stack next to the door. If you find a planter to put the stacked pumpkins in, add some greenery and bam! So cute! *pro tip: if the planter is deeper, add a pool noodle to fill the space!
Of course a fall wreath and a cute welcome mat is the go to fall inspo! I’ve linked below a few of my trendy favorites!! Below, I talk more about the 3D paper bats – I think they look super cute on the front door as well as inside, but hear me out… floating witches hats! HOW CUTE!!! If you don’t have a covered porch for this to be possible, you can always add this to a hallway (or any room you please) in your house and it would be just as cute!
entryway / console tables
For me, right now in our apartment, this is pretty much the only area in our place that I have to really show some seasonal decor! Other than a few tiny hints here and there with the couch pillows + blankets, and the kitchen island etc. of course! So I really went all out with our entryway/console table! What do you think?!
There are so many ways you can incorporate fall vibes into your console table and that’s what makes it so fun!
- bowl or dough bowl of pumpkins – I actually used a serving platter because I liked the look of the white LOL but don’t tell anyone.
- printouts in frame – if you have a printer at home this is probably the easiest decor item for your home! If you don’t then just run to staples or office max (or anywhere that can print) and stick them in your frames – as you can see my priorities are not in check with my printouts right now LOL oops TBD.
- twisted candles – LOVING THESE SO MUCH!!!!! I got the cream color because I love them so much I will keep them up year round! Though if you want to get fancy or fun they do have colored options!! So fun, and so cute!
- candy pumpkin jar – I’ve had this jar for years and it’s ALWAYS on trend! It’s so perfect for any fall vibe and you can either make your own mix, buy it already mixed, or just add any candy or treat inside and IT.JUST.WORKS!!! SO cute!
- pompous grass + vase – This trend is more of a year round trend that doubles as a fall decor piece! It’s stunning and you can find them in all sorts of sizes and looks! Small short ones for your coffee table/kitchen island, bigger tall ones for on the floor look, you name it!
- candle – as you know, I’m a fan of adding a candle anywhere and everywhere 😛
- pumpkins – always pumpkins. DUH! Every year we take a trip to the pumpkin patch, of course, and grab a few favorites! Though you can easily get faux pumpkins that look real and be able to reuse them each fall season! Once I have more space to incorporate more things in, I will be mixing the two!! 😛
living room
Other than really cute simple fall colored throw pillows and maybe blankets, decorating your coffee table/mantle/or entertainment center is the way to go!
I love the idea of a small centerpiece or tray on the coffee table dedicated to decor! This can change for each season which makes it super cute! Add little pumpkins, acorns, pompous grass, a small figure, a candle, or chunky candlestick holders and candles etc. and you have yourself a cute fall centerpiece for your coffee table! Or ditch the try and loosely place the decor on the table with a few books!
I’m LIVING for the paper bats over the fireplace look! I know, I know, some may say this is “so last year” but it’s STILL A THING in my opinion and I’m so here for it!! It’s extremely cheap, and subtile yet very eye catching and chic! The best thing about this honestly is that if you’re the crafty type, you can cut them out on your own! But if not, of course amazon has your back! Throw a few small pumpkins up on the mantle with a beautiful leafy garland and candle sticks and wallah!
If you’re not really the fall garland type (me) you can find super cute wood cutouts (customizable) and surround it with small figures, candlesticks, pompous grass in a vase, a cute halloween or fall print out in a frame, maybe even a dough bowl filled with mini pumpkins! So many cute options I cant wait until I have a mantle one day 😛

kitchen
I think I’ll always love a kitchen island centerpiece! Especially when it’s decorated seasonally! This can easily be done the same way your coffee table centerpiece is done! A pumpkin(s), a candy jar, a candle, pompous grass in a vase – you get the vibe!
Coffee bar/beverage bar cart can really bring out the fall vibes in your kitchen as well! Fall printouts are the way to go!!! I’m telling you! There’s nothing easier than printing a cute fall saying or picture and placing it in a frame you already have, not to mention how chic! *I say that as I have YET to make it a priority to go do print mine out LOLOL – if you have a printer at home though, you’re golden!
Cute fall mugs, and fall cocktail glasses are just icing on the cake with this area! And if you’re hosting, there’s a perfect pumpkin drink dispenser that I’ll link below that is perfect for your gathering!
dining room table
I don’t yet have a dining table to decorate, but when I do – best believe it will come with place settings and a cute decor piece with your name on it if I host! I’m definitely more of a garland type centerpiece when it comes to the dining table. I would much rather the entire middle of the table with a runner be filled rather than just one centerpiece in the middle! Of course also because you want to be able to see all of the guests around the table and not have to peak around the tall centerpiece (this goes for weddings as well 😛 )
Some creative ideas I’m loving for the dining table is to layer and spread all different heights of candlesticks down the runner! Maybe have a dough bowl in the center full of pumpkins and a leafy garland placed around with more smaller pumpkins and candles (some acorns?!)! All the fun cute things!
disclaimer: you can put pumpkins anywhere and everywhere… I’m telling you now, that it’s always a good idea to add a pumpkin! 😛
finding your vibe
First, it’s important to find your vibe! And I would usually suggest going off what you already have in that room for the vibe! If the room you’re decorating in is more neutral, implement for neutral fall colors with a few pops! If your room is filled with more of a “flashy” look, stick to that when it comes to your fall decor ideas! You’ll find that it will be much easier to find decor items and create a space you LOVE if you already have a vibe set, instead of impulse buying everything you see and it looking like hobby lobby threw up in your living room 😛
